Overview

The Web 3.0 and blockchain industry is growing during this Crypto Winter, and job opportunities are still everywhere. However, it's important to prioritize diversity and inclusion in the industry to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.

Companies like Outlier Ventures and LUKSO have a variety of roles open at different levels of seniority. Candidates should have a good understanding of Web 3 but not necessarily direct experience in the space. Transferable skills from other industries can also be valuable. When applying for a job, candidates should focus on what skills they can bring to the table and not overthink their lack of experience in the crypto/Web3 space.

Career progression in Web 3.0 can be fast-paced and demanding, and it is important to stay up to date with the latest developments and network with others in the industry. When applying for a job, be very clear about what you can deliver to the business and how you can help it grow. Understand that in small startups, you may need to be a jack of all trades, while larger organizations may have more specific roles.

It's important to reflect on your personal risk appetite and choose a company that aligns with your values and growth aspirations. Many organisations believe hierarchies should be kept as flat as possible within Web 3.0 companies to encourage self-organization and agility.

Companies are hiring for both remote and hybrid roles, but it depends on the specific job and company. It's important to make job descriptions inclusive and reach out to diverse communities to get a diverse pool of candidates. Remember a job description is often a wish list, not a set of requirements from those hiring. Apply when your skill sets are appropriate if not fully matching.
